Corporate Video Editing in Chicago
I'm Jake Blackman, a Chicago-based editor handling post-production for brands, agencies, and in-house marketing teams. You send the footage; I handle story, motion design, color, sound, and every cutdown your channels need — so the edit is right the first time.

What corporate post-production covers
Every format below is edited in-house. Most corporate projects use several at once: one hero film, a handful of cutdowns, and the social sizes to go with them.
Brand films & long-form storytelling
Documentary-style pieces and brand films cut for attention and emotion.
SEE LONG-FORM STORYTELLING ▶Company stories & internal comms
Founder profiles, culture videos, and interview-driven pieces that show who a company really is.
SEE COMPANY STORIES ▶Product explainers
What it does and why it matters, made clear in under two minutes.
SEE PRODUCT EXPLAINERS ▶Digital ads & pre-roll
Short-form spots cut to convert across every placement and aspect ratio.
SEE DIGITAL ADS ▶Social cutdowns
Vertical and square native edits sized for the feed, pulled from the same master edit.
SEE SOCIAL CONTENT ▶Motion design & animation
Kinetic typography, transitions, lower thirds, and 2D animation systems.
SEE MOTION DESIGN ▶AI-assisted content
New tools used to speed up production without cutting corners on craft.
SEE AI CONTENT ▶FINISHING, INCLUDED
- Color correction and a consistent grade across every frame
- Sound design, dialogue polish, music selection, and a mix that travels
- VFX: screen replacements, cleanup, and composites in-house
- Captions, lower thirds, and brand-accurate graphics

How a project runs
Brief & footage handoff
You send the footage, brand assets, and the goal for the piece. I confirm scope, deliverables, and the cut list before anything gets touched.
Story assembly
Selects, structure, and a rough cut so we agree on the story before polish time gets spent on the wrong version.
Rounds of revisions
Timecoded notes, one consolidated pass at a time. Clear versioning so nobody is guessing which cut is current.
Finish & delivery
Color, sound, graphics, then masters plus every cutdown and aspect ratio you need for the platforms you're posting to.
Timelines depend on runtime, footage volume, and how many cutdowns you need. Send the brief and you'll get a schedule back before the project starts.
Got footage that needs an editor?
Tell me what you're making, when it's due, and where it's going. I'll come back with scope and a schedule.
